Transportation Built Around Older Adults, Not Just Addresses

Presence NEMT provides senior and elderly medical transportation throughout Fort Worth, North Fort Worth, Haslet, Keller, Southlake, Colleyville, Grapevine, Dallas and surrounding Dallas-Fort Worth communities. We are nurse-owned, which means the way we plan a ride starts with the passenger: how they move, how long they can sit comfortably, whether a walker or wheelchair travels with them, and who needs to know they arrived.

Many of the calls we take are not from the passenger at all. They are from an adult son or daughter trying to get Mom to a cardiology appointment, or a spouse who can no longer manage a transfer into a car alone. You can arrange a ride on behalf of a parent, and you can stay in the loop from pickup through drop-off.

Appointments and Treatments We Drive Seniors To

Recurring appointments are where reliability matters most. A dialysis chair time or an infusion slot cannot be rescheduled casually, so those trips are set up as a standing block rather than booked one call at a time.

  • Physician and specialist appointments, including cardiology, neurology, orthopedics and wound care
  • Dialysis, three or more times a week, on a standing schedule
  • Oncology, chemotherapy and infusion therapy visits
  • Physical therapy, occupational therapy and outpatient rehabilitation
  • Imaging, lab work, pre-op visits and outpatient procedures
  • Hospital discharge home, or to a rehabilitation or skilled nursing bed
  • Recurring treatment rides scheduled weeks or months at a time

Mobility Assistance and Comfort During the Ride

Our drivers are professionally trained and healthcare-informed. They assist with entering and exiting the vehicle, securing a wheelchair properly, managing a walker or oxygen, and moving at a pace that suits the passenger rather than the clock.

Wheelchair-accessible vans are available, along with higher-support options such as bariatric seating and BRODA / Traversa transport chairs for riders who need more positioning support than a standard seat provides. CNA, MA, or Nurse escorts can be requested when a passenger needs supervision during transport.

Pickup From Home, Assisted Living, Memory Care or Skilled Nursing

We pick up from private residences, independent living apartments, assisted living communities, memory care neighborhoods, rehabilitation facilities and skilled nursing facilities across DFW. For community pickups we coordinate with the front desk or nursing staff so the resident is ready and paperwork travels with them.

For families who live out of state, we can confirm pickup and arrival by phone or text so you are not left guessing whether the ride happened.

Why Families Choose Presence for an Aging Parent

  • Nurse-owned and Presence-Driven, with long-term care and healthcare experience behind every trip
  • 24/7 local dispatch, answered by people who know the DFW area
  • HIPAA-conscious and ADA-accommodating
  • Door-through-door assistance rather than curbside drop-off
  • Clear communication with the family or care team when appropriate
  • One-time rides and long-term recurring schedules handled the same way

Need Someone to Stay With Mom or Dad?

For many families, arranging transportation is only part of the concern. Presence offers optional companion and clinical escort support for families who want someone to accompany a loved one through the transportation and appointment experience.

Depending on the level of support needed and availability, that may be a non-clinical companion, a CNA, an MA, or a Nurse. When arranged in advance, they can remain with your loved one during the appointment rather than only during the ride.

For loved ones who shouldn't have to navigate the outing alone — memory concerns, unfamiliar healthcare environments, anxiety, mobility limitations, long appointments, repeated treatments, or a family member who simply cannot attend — a familiar, supportive presence can make the whole outing easier. This is accompaniment and support, not specialized memory or dementia care.

  • Non-clinical companion support during transportation and appointments
  • CNA accompaniment when appropriate and available
  • MA accompaniment when appropriate and available
  • Nurse accompaniment within applicable scope of practice

Optional and available upon request for an additional fee, based on the level of support requested and availability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a family member schedule transportation for an elderly parent?
Yes. Most of our rides are arranged by an adult child, spouse or caregiver. Call or text us with the pickup address, the appointment time and place, and whether your parent walks, uses a walker or travels in a wheelchair. No medical details are required upfront.
Can you transport my parent while they stay in their own wheelchair?
Yes. Our wheelchair-accessible vans allow a passenger to remain seated in their own chair, which is then secured with a proper restraint system for the trip.
Do you provide transportation to dialysis several times per week?
Yes. Recurring dialysis transportation is one of our most common services. We set standing pickup times around the chair schedule so the same trip repeats each week.
How far in advance should I schedule a senior ride?
Booking a few days ahead gives the best choice of time slots, and recurring schedules are best set up a week or more in advance. Same-day and next-day requests are often possible, so call or text and we will tell you honestly what is available.
Will someone help my mother from her door to the vehicle?
Yes. Our drivers provide door-through-door assistance, including help down steps, securing a walker or wheelchair, and getting settled comfortably before the trip begins.
What areas of Dallas-Fort Worth do you serve?
Fort Worth and North Fort Worth, Haslet, Keller, Southlake, Westlake, Colleyville, Grapevine, Roanoke, Watauga, North Richland Hills, Arlington, Dallas and surrounding DFW communities. Longer trips outside the metroplex are quoted individually.
